I was born in the Isle of Wight and raised as a child on the
island of Ibiza. Having always been surrounded by art,
my father is a sculptor and my mother a painter,
I naturally took to creativity as well.
My childhood
could be described as very colourful and eventful, Ibiza was
a beautiful place to grow up and I will always hold that beauty
in my heart. |
I
did an Art Foundation course at Winchester School of Art, and
then a FineArt degree at Kingston University.
I use a variety of different media to express my art, from photography
and video animation to traditional painting, in
watercolour and oils and printmaking. More recently I
have been working with computer graphics as well. |
 |
| I
have worked with architectural illustration, wedding
photography and artistic performance and I have had
various exhibitions of video installation, prints and painting,
as well as working on commissions. |
Sacral
Agenesis is a congenital condition with complete or partial
abscence of the sacrum at the base of the spine, which in
turn can affect the nervous function of the bladder, bowel
and lower extremities
Ayurveda,
translated as the art and science of living is a systematic
approach which utilizes all that nature provides (foods,
spices, herbal medicines, colours, metals, gems, sound)
to not only overcome illness but continually strengthen
oneself

For
the past years my attention has been with my family.
My son, Joshua was born with a disability (Sacral
Agenesis). Our life as a family has revolved around
coping with multiple problems arising from Joshua's condition,
and we are in a constant process of learning and developing
qualities such as patience, perseverance and determination.
My husband's proficiency in ayurvedic
medicine has helped us greatly through these difficult
times especially as I also suffer from Rheumatoid Arthritis. |
Bringing
up a child with disability opens up new perspectives
on life. As a family we are forced to live each day as it is,
with all its difficulties. It is a constant struggle with a
deepened appreciation of the small things we all take for granted.
We loose all selfishness and try to do our duty with full heart
and mind.
Really our son, Joshua, is helping us see beyond our smaller
selves. He needs a regular lifestyle, a routine involving catheterisation
and enemas, regular check ups and monitoring of his condition,
and above all he needs lots of love; like we all do! We try
our best, but without meditation it would be harder.
I hope to continue to reflect my visions and inspirations, in
whichever media is suited, and to share them with others. Hence
I am building this website to reach out to the world
and share our story. I am flexible and open to the outcome and
hope it may help others as well as ourselves in our search for
truth and meaning.
